Htc One and Galaxy S4 Google Edition Review.

The Google Edition Htc One and Galaxy S4 are now available from the Google Play Store. There are the stock version of the original S4 and One. These phone don't run the skins from their Oem's but google's own stock android. But still there are some customization in the software, lets find out what these customization's are in our review.
Htc One and Galaxy S4 Google Edition

The Google Edition Htc One and Galaxy S4 run Android 4.2.2 out of the box. No skins but pure android. The phones look very pretty with the stock software on them. In terms of performance these phones are just like bullets, there is no studder and no lag in the entire software. These phones handle almost everything you throw at them.
Htc One and Galaxy S4 Google Edition

The software though has some minor tweaks thus making it a little bit different from the stock android found on any nexus device. The beats audio functionality is still available in the Google Edition Htc One. The rest of the software is almost same. Having these Google Edition phones though sometimes feel a little empty on the feature side as you lose the software tweaks present on the non-Google Edition phones such the air gestures on the Galaxy S4 and the blink feed on the Htc One. Still these phones are good and sacrificing the software tweaks is worth.
Galaxy S4 Google Edition

In terms of Camera these phones lose a lot of functionality specially in the case of Galaxy S4. These phones loose all the software tweaks for the camera such as the drama shot, dual shot, sound shot and other different modes on the Galaxy S4 whereas the Zoe feature on the Htc One. The phones still with stock Camera experience take some good looking and high quality pictures. Even in the stock Camera experience you will find some tweaks that are completely different from the Camera interface on a nexus device.
Htc One google Edition

At the end i would like to say that these phone are amazingly good in terms of performance and any other field. Yes you will lose some software tweaks but these phones will fill those gaps by hook or crook. The point where the whole story changes is the price point, these google editions are so highly priced that most people who are willing to buy these phones might ignore them and go for something else or buy their respective OEM edition phones. But still is any one of you have decided to buy one of these phones then don't wait because these phone will not disappoint you.

Windows 8.1

Windows 8.1: Improving Modern UI
We're only a few days away from Microsoft's BUILD Developer Conference on June 26! We know for sure that Microsoft is going to reveal Windows 8.1 and have a hackathon, which means plenty more apps for all you Windows 8 users! Windows 8.1 will be launched as a preview, and We at TechnoMADGuys are going to have exhaustive coverage of windows 8.1 when it is launched, so follow our blog via email for all the latest updates!

Windows 8: Reimagining Windows

Windows 8 Re-Imagined what Windows should be. With it's modern UI and completely new WinRT Framework and the windows store, Windows 8 represents the most significant change to Microsoft's Windows 8 operating system since Windows 95. Smartphones and Tablets have invaded our day to day lives, and windows 8 duly reflects that trend. Now, with windows 8.1, Microsoft aims to improve the Modern UI Experience for users by implementing User Suggestions.

New Features In Windows 8.1

TechnoMADGuys got our hands on a preview build of Windows 8.1 a few days ago, So we know most of the new features Microsoft is bringing to the table. Some of the new changes brought by Windows 8.1 include Resizable Live Tiles, A New and improved Modern UI control panel , improved snap view which now supports Snapping up to 4 apps at once and arbitrary resize of Snapped apps. Please note that these improvement to snap need to be supported by your monitor to function properly. Windows 8.1 also improves on the lock screen, by allowing your lock screen to become a cloud powered slideshow of your pictures. and It also adds new apps to Windows like Movie Moments, Calculator, and Alarms.  Some of the other features of the update include Aggregated Search, Internet Explorer 11, Tighter Integration with SkyDrive , And the bringing back of the Start Button ( Although this will just take you back to the Start Screen). You can now set your Start Screen Wallpaper as your Desktop Wallpaper!

Conclusion

Behind this Façade of new features however, there is hidden a truth. Windows 8.1 does not bring many (If any) changes to the desktop. It only improves on quite a few aspects that Windows 8 didn't get quite right, like the lack of a calculator app.

Its only a few days away from Launch, and TMG Will cover it!

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 Review

When the Note 2 was released people thought that who will buy such a big phone with 5.5 inch screen, but people accepted the note 2 after some time. It seems like Samsung is not willing to stop increasing the screen size of their Smartphones. With the 6.3 inch giant smartphone Galaxy Mega 6.3 they are just reaching the 7 inch tablet form factor. Well lets just see how this giant smartphone performs in our review.

Design and Hardware:
The Galaxy Mega 6.3 is a big phone and is built by samsung in the same way as they build there other phones. The phone resembles a lot to the flagship Galaxy S4. It is build out of plastic and has the hyper-glace coating on it. The phone is surrounded by a metal rim. The power button is on the right, volume rocker on the left, 3.5mm headphone jack on the top and microUSB port on the bottom.
Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3
The phone has a Dual-Core 1.7 Ghz processor, 8/16 GB storage along with 1.5 GB Ram. It also has a microSD card slot which supports up to 64 GB cards.

Display:
As from the name the Galaxy Mega 6.3 has a huge 6.3" 720x1280 SC-LCD touchscreen giving a pixel density of 233ppi. The display has decent color representation and good viewing angles. The brightness is enough for good outdoor visibility.

Camera:
The Galaxy Mega 6.3 has an 8 MP rear-facing and 1.9 MP front-facing Camera. The Camera is capable for shooting 1080p videos @30fps. The phone has the new camera interface similar to that found on the galaxy S4. It also brings the new smart camera modes. The camera takes good photos but some times the colors are over saturated and the indoor quality is just fine. The quality of camera is good for day to day usage.

Software and Interface:
The phone runs on android 4.2.2 Jelly-Bean with Samsung's latest Touch-Wiz UI. The phone also has some features from the flagship(S4) such as smart-pause, air gestures etc. Samsung has also provided landscape mode for the interface thus making it convenient to use phone at any angle.
Samsung Galaxy mega 6.3
Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3
Performance:
The phone is powered by a 1.7 Ghz Dual-Core Krait processor which is surprisingly very good at performance. There is no lag while scrolling though the UI, apps run very well and when switching apps there is no lag. The phone performs almost all tasks smoothly. The browser loads the pages quickly and smoothly, pinching and zooming perform perfectly well. Thus we can say that the phone is very good in terms of performance.

Pros:
  • Very Good Processing power
  • Light weigh and thin
  • Decent Camera performance
  • Large screen which is good for browsing web, watching movies and some other tasks.
Cons:
  • Very difficult to carry
  • Impossible to use with single hand.
Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3
Final Thoughts:
At the end it can be concluded that Galaxy Mega 6.3 is a capable phone for performing almost all tasks. The only problem is that of the large screen size. If you want a big phone which is almost as big as a tablet and good performance or if you want a device smaller than a tablet but still big enough then Galaxy Mega 6.3 is a way to go.

Nokia has decided to keep there windows phone smartphones going on. After the huge succsess of the Lumia 920's Camera Nokia is ready for another smartphone. The Lumia 925, next addition to the Lumia series. Keeping the tradition going on this phone has a good build quality and excellent camera. What more does this smartphone has to offer lets find out in the review.

Design and Hardware:
The phone is just a refreshed version of the Lumia 920. It is light weight, thin and portable. The phone has an aluminium rim around the body which also serves as antenna for mobile network.     The back of the phone is made of poly carbonate. The Volume Rocker, lock button and the camera key are located at right. microUSB port and 3.5 mm headphone jack on the top along with sim card tray.
Nokia Lumia 925

It has a Dual-Core 1.5Ghz Krait processor, 16/32 GB storge along with 1 GB of Ram. The phone doesn't offers any microSD card slot, so you if you are out of storage you need to depend upon cloud services such as DropBox, Google Drive and Microsoft's own SkyDrive.

Dislpay:
The Lumia 925 has a 4.5" display with a resolution of 786x1280 giving a pixel density of 322ppi. The display is an AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. Though AMOLED display have poor viewing angles, low brightness and poor color representation but still windows phone look great on AMOLED displays so it won't disappoint you.

Camera:
The Lumia 925 has an 8 MP Camera with dual Led flash. It is the same PureView Camera found on the Lumia 920 but now it has a 6th Lens. The Camera has optical image stabilization and great low-light performance. We have a low light sample of the Nokia 925 camera comparing to the galaxy S4 camera.
Low Light Sample Shot
The outdoor performance of Nokia 925 is not ground breaking though but still it captures good quality images which will not disappoint you.

Software and Interface:
The phone runs on Windows Phone 8. As all windows phone this phone looks and feels the same as a windows phone should. It has the traditional Home screen with live tiles which you can customize easily. The app drawer is still in a form of list which may cause problem when you have a lots of apps installed, but the search button eliminates this problem.
Nokia Lumia 925 Keyboard
The good point in the software is that Microsoft have installed some of its great productive applications on this phone which may be handy to many people.

Performance:
The phone has a 1.5Ghz Dual-Core processor which is enough for a windows based phone. The phone runs smoothly on day to day performance but sometimes we can see a bit lag while multitasking. The browser on the phone renders the page quickly and smoothly, pinching and zooming works perfect but sometimes you will see a bit lag in the browser though. Otherwise the Lumia 925 is a good performer in terms of performance.

Pros:
  • Good build quality
  • Excellent camera performance
  • Smooth performance
  • Decent Display
Cons:
  • No SD card slot
  • Poor call quality and loudspeaker performance
  • Windows app ecosystem still falls behind android and iOS
Nokia Lumia 925

Final Thoughts:
If you want a phone with excellent camera performance and good specifications this is a phone to go with. If you are a power user then you may look somewhere else. At last this phone is decent and good looking smartphone which is capable of doing some great things.

Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 Review

The galaxy ace line-up has always been an interesting combination of specs and price point. The galaxy Ace 3 keep ups this tradition. As an addition to the ace line-up this phone brings some similar features and design language of the Samsung's current flagship the 'Galaxy S4'. Without further delay lets get to the review.

Design and Hardware:
The Galaxy Ace 3 continues the Samsung's same trend of plastic design. It has a complete plastic body with a metal like rim around the phone. The phone though looks nice and is very light weight due to the use of plastic. It has the volume rocker on the left, the power lock key on the right, 3.5mm headphone jack on the top and microUSB port on the bottom.
The phone comes with a 1Ghz Dual-Core CPU with 1 GB of Ram and 4 GB of internal storage(1.77 user available). The Galaxy Ace 3 however overcomes the problem of internal storage by providing a microSD slot for memory expansion up to 64GB.
Galaxy Ace 3
Display:
The display is a 4" TFT LCD with a resolution of 480x800 giving a pixel density of 233ppi. The display produces some decent colors and has good viewing angles. The brightness of the display is not very high which results in very poor performance of display under direct sunlight.

Camera:
The Ace 3 has a 5 MP Camera with an LED Flash which is capable of recording video at 720p @30 fps. The photos captured by the Camera are good with decent color representation and less noice as compared to any mid-range Smartphone Camera of this type. Indoor photography can be a problem to some people.
The best thing about the camera is that it has the same interface as that on the Galaxy S4, it includes some features like Sound Shot, Drama shot thus giving it a good look and enjoyable photography. The phone also has a front facing VGA camera for video calls.

Software and Interface:
The Galaxy Ace 3 runs on the latest Android Version 4.2.2 with Samsung's latest TouchWiz UI. The phone borrows some features from the flagship like the Customizable notification bar, redefined settings menu, etc. The interface doesn't have all the fancy animations that the high-end smartphones have.
Galaxy Ace 3
The rest of the interface is same as you would expect from a TouchWiz phone.

Performance:
The phone has 1Ghz Dual-Core processor which is enough for some light games and some popular apps. The pre installed touchwiz browser renders pages quickly. The phone is capable for day to day performance but when it comes to high-end gaming or any other intensive application then don't expect much from it.
Galaxy Ace 3

Pros:
  • Light weight
  • Good call quality
  • Decent Camera quality and screen quality
  • Decent price point
Cons:
  • Poor indoor Camera performance
  • Phone fells slower some times
  • Low internal storage
  • The loudspeaker is not loud enough, but has good sound quality.
Final Thoughts:
The Galaxy Ace 3 is a mild upgrade from its predecessor. It gives some decent specs at a very good price point. For those who want to buy a mid-range smartphones with looks and feels of a high end or are going to buy there first smartphone, Ace 3 is an option to consider.

Leaked Video Shows Nokia EOS' Camera In Action

A Leaker who only recently rose to prominence, namely ViziLeaks has published a video on Youtube showing the Nokia EOS'( or Elvis', whatever) camera in action. For those who don't know what the Nokia EOS Project is, its an attempt to combine the 41- Megapixel Carl- Zeiss camera on the 808 Pureview, with Microsoft's Windows Phone Platform. It is reportedly in early trials with AT & T.

The Video shows the EOS Camera's Optical Image stabilization and focusing capabilities, with an XX where the megapixel count should be. The Video could be a fake , of course, but we doubt ViziLeaks would upload such a video if they weren't sure.

iPad 5 Might Be Released at WWDC, According To Case Maker

Yes, you read that right! The popular case maker , Hard Candy cases has released this leaked photo of the iPad 5 cases. This leak builds on the rumour that the iPad 5 might see the light of day at WWDC 2013, happening on 10th June. Hard Candy Cases already has 2 cases for the iPad 5 on its site, with a shipping date of june 12th. The genuinity of this proclamation cant quite be confirmed yet because Hard Candy has written on its site : "we’re pretty confident these cases will fit. If for some reason they don’t, we’ll replace the case at no charge." This could imply that Hard Candy is guessing and isn't quite sure about the launch., But then again, case makers know the design and build before anybody else.

Apple has been keeping most of the leakers quiet recently. Normally, before any apple event, we already know what6 is going to be launched, what it looks like , what its specs are , and almost everything else about the device from a number of sources. This time, iOS 7 is a certainty but we don't have any other confirmed launches.

So, keep your fingers crossed for the iPad 5, which may , or may not be launched next week.
